My Studio Space

In the summer months I am based here. This is a room I have dedicated to making pictures. When I was an illustrator during the 2000’s I used this space all year round and its away from the house. Most of the work I have taken each year to Goodwood has been painted in this room.

Initially though, when I got started in 2010, painting the things I was interested in, it was autumn with winter approaching. An upstairs room in the house seemed the ideal place…

My stay upstairs extended well into the summer. I must have become accustomed to the jumble of things. The Meccano painting found its way to the Brooklands Museum. At 140 x 100 cm I didn’t much fancy the return to Sweden and they kindly took care of it for me after my last showing there. Reunited again with it at Goodwood in 2019 it was promptly sold.

The winter months now find me painting in a room I keep below the flat where I live in Stockholm. There is a window behind me high up in the wall….but its very dark in Sweden most of the winter. No need to fuss about daylight. If you are curious at all to see me paint check out my Youtube posts on the Youtube link. The work in progress on the easel pictured is Swedish racing driver Ewy Rosqvist.
